Esther C. Kane is the founder of Aging in Place Directory Hub, a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), and a retired occupational therapist whose career has been dedicated to helping older adults live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes.
She blends more than 25 years of digital marketing expertise with hands-on clinical experience in senior care, a rare combination that shapes the heart and vision of the platform.
As an occupational therapist, Esther spent years inside people’s homes, evaluating fall risks, identifying safety hazards, and designing practical, personalized solutions that supported aging with dignity.
She saw firsthand how difficult it was for families to find trustworthy professionals, and how often they faced confusion, fear, or costly mistakes because they didn’t know where to begin.
Later, as the owner of a digital marketing agency, Esther helped small businesses grow online and develop the visibility they needed to succeed.
Over time, she realized that aging-in-place professionals, despite their deep expertise and tremendous value, were often invisible online, relying on word-of-mouth while large national companies dominated search results.
Aging in Place Directory was born at the intersection of these two worlds.
Esther created the platform to solve real problems she witnessed on both sides: families desperate for reliable guidance, and professionals struggling to reach the people who needed them most.
Today, thanks to her leadership, the directory has become a nationwide hub that connects homeowners and caregivers with vetted specialists, including remodelers, CAPS contractors, occupational therapists, designers, home care agencies, and technology providers, all focused on helping people remain safely in the homes they love.
In addition to running the directory, Esther leads weekly marketing webinars, monthly mastermind sessions, and professional training programs that teach aging-in-place providers how to grow their businesses through modern marketing techniques, AI tools, and digital strategy.
Her mission is not just to list professionals, but to lift them, giving them the education, community, and confidence to thrive in a competitive industry.
At her core, Esther believes aging in place should be safe, joyful, and affordable, not stressful or overwhelming. She continues to advocate for smarter home design, accessible housing, better caregiver support, and stronger visibility for the dedicated professionals who serve older adults every day.
When she isn’t teaching or building new tools for the directory, Esther produces educational content, hosts webinars, and collaborates with leaders across the aging-in-place industry.
